Where is the world's only remaining hegemonic superpower?

Missing in action based on how the US, and the US administration, has dealt with several issues:
  1. The illegal immigration amnesty bill
  2. Revelation of covert Russian and Chinese assistance provided to Iraq to conceal their WMD activities.
  3. Terrorism and the rising theocracy in Iraq
  4. The quick nuclear march of Iran
  5. US intelligence leaks to The New York Times, The Washington Post and the USA Today.
  6. An intelligence agency undercutting the efforts of the US executive branch to wage a war.
  7. Seditious activity of US academics such as Noam Chomsky
Over the next couple of weeks, if I get the time, I will investigate each example separately and look at how these demonstrate the US's current unwillingness to wear the yoke of leading the free, liberal and democratic world.

This post is inspired by Mike's post over at Mike's Noise on the defense of the US.
