An Apologetic

When asked to write an essay titled "What is wrong with this world?" by The Times, G.K. Chesterton replied,

Dear Sirs:

I am.

Yours sincerely
G.K. Chesterton

For someone who has been labelled as the most prolific writers of the 20th century and the foremost Christian Apologist, Chesterton's response is accurate and to the point. We collectively are responsible for the parlous state of the world. Not solely George W. Bush or William J. Clinton, but me, you and the person next to you also.

The world will, one day, be restored to the way God created it, but only after God calls to Himself those who cling to the Cross of Christ.

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from his reward?
I can not give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom.
