Joy Ride

I just finished speed reading this NYT article regarding the state of affairs in what could be Palestine. Then I recall reading an article earlier in the day. Two thoughts immediately crossed my mind:
  1. There aren't enough psychiatrists in what could be Palestine
  2. What were the Al-Aqsa boys trying to do? Show their clansmen that they have balls? Prove that they are ready for martyrdom operations? Skipped taking their medicine? Or perhaps coopting a young boy to do their dirty work?
The Israeli Army has kept its side of the bargain for a number of months. Outside of targeted killings of Islamic militants, the IDF have been quite reserved.

In fact, the Israeli Supreme Court (?) is refusing to allow the IDF to use Palestinians to sweep potentially rigged militant safe houses. What have the Palestinians authorities done in return? SQUAT.

Now, when the IDF launches it's next strike, the likes of the BBC, The Independent and NYT will declare it to be an invasion of the "Occupied Territories". No outrage at the breaking of a ceasefire by the the PA's militant wing though. Indeed there will be rationalisations such as, Israel failed to comply with UN resolution etc etc, is occupying Palestinian lands, Israel is fermenting poverty in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, etc etc.
