Sarkozy Calls for positive discrimination and no quotas

On a video blog, no less! Furthermore, Sarkozy officially announces his candidature for the 2007 French presidential election! :)

More power to the blog-o-sphere!

I am not sure what to make of his blog. He seems to deny there were riots in France. I am not sure what he means.

Unfortunately, I don't understand or know any French and I can't find an English transcript of his interview. Can anyone rise to the occasion?

And what is positive discrimination? Some liberal elitist idea conjured up over some French chardonnay in front of a warm woodfire in an upmarket New York penthouse? Or is it something beneficial and constructive?

Never thought I'd do this, but:

[UPDATE: French comments will not be accepted, nor will French based links, as I can obviously not read French and establish the credibility of comments made and sites linked to. Apologies.]
